I think that when it comes to bluegrass, the bass is like the kick drum and the all the other instruments are like parts of a &quot;virtual&quot; drum set.  Guitar, mandolin, banjo, even fiddle can double as percussion instruments.

		<description>Thanks for the tip.  I just downloaded some of the tracks from the album.  I really am getting to like the bluegrass instrumentation when it is pushed beyond the traditional chord progressions, although I still am not used to hearing bass without drums.</description>
