In Hawaii, of course, school was never canceled for weather-related reasons. So you had to come up with your own reasons... like surf's being WAY up. But I have to admit I remember feeling such joy whenever we had a snowday off from school when I was a kid. It was thrilling to listen to the radio to hear the announcement of school closings, and finally hearing that your school was closed....ah, what a great feelin! I hate snow… so I live in California.
